CLS Immigration Law Panel
Monday, April 1, 2013 at 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Location: Law 190
Please join the Christian Legal Society for a discussion of immigration issues with Christian practitioners and policy makers.
The Christian tradition commands that we welcome strangers in our midst, because we were once strangers ourselves. At the same time, we are to honor and obey the laws of the land we live in. In our nation, these two competing concerns do not always align. How do Christians reconcile these ideals while participating in the national immigration debate?
Our panel addresses the immigration policy debate from the viewpoint of two practitioners and two policy makers. Kent Felty and David Simmons are two attorneys who practice regularly before the Immigration Court. Courtney Tudi, a DU alum, serves on behalf of immigrants and refugees at World Relief. Michelle Warren is the Colorado liaison for the Evangelical Immigration Table, a coalition of Christians who educate in churches and advocate for immigration policy reform.
Garbanzos will be served!
