Gender, Policy and Law Seminar | L47xx
This seminar will examine both law and policy through the lens of gender. The course is not merely a theoretical exercise but rather an integration of theory with practice as well as law with history, theology and social science. We will examine and deconstruct legal theories which emerged and framed legislation in the US during the 18-21st Century. We will study the writings of a variety of theorists and policy analysts from the US, Canada and the EU who have confronted questions concerning gender equality.
The practical component will be drafting legislation and participating in a Mock Legislative hearing.
