Course Description

The Forge/ CED Clinic | L47xx

The “Forge” is the experiential component of Project X-ITE, the University of Denver’s cross-disciplinary initiative across the graduate schools in law, business, and engineering (see http://www.projectxite.org/). The Forge will ultimately enroll an interdisciplinary team of graduate students to provide comprehensive services to Denver’s small business community. Students enrolled in the Fall 2016 course will have the unique opportunity to participate in The Forge’s design by engaging in a range of law practice management activities, such as client recruitment and business development; strategic and business planning; project management; community outreach; marketing; and professional development. In addition, students will work as a team to identify and represent The Forge’s initial client(s). The Forge is a less intense experiential class than the 12-credit CED Clinic. This is a 3-credit directed experiential project. Enrollment is by professor permission only.
