Environmental Community Lawyering | L4703EC

This class will examine the role of an environmental lawyer working directly with community-based organizations in an urban setting, particularly in environmental justice communities. Students will examine a number of real-world case studies involving environmental community lawyers, and will learn to utilize both federal and state laws to tackle the environmental issues facing underrepresented communities. Expect interesting readings on environmental justice, field trips, and the opportunity to meet with community leaders. May satisfy the upper writing requirement
