Advanced Legal Writing - Trial Practice Lab | L4651T

If lawyers are warriors, then their weapons are words. And it is crucial that they master those weapons in terms of both oral and written communication. This course, in conjunction with its companion course, Trial Practice I - Basic Courtroom Skills, will help them do so. The courses will use the same simulation(s), so that students experience each stage of trial as both an orator and a writer. They will argue their case verbally in Trial Practice and submit their briefs and other documents in Advanced Legal Writing. This will give them a well-rounded and realistic experience of the litigation process. (Students who take this course must also take Trial Practice; the professor's permission is required before enrolling.)

Prerequisites: Co-Requisite Trial Practice
Credit Hours: 3
ULW: This course will meet the Upper Level Writing requirement (ULW)
