Legal Externship Seminar: Environmental/Natural Resources | L5031

The Externship Office is divided into practice-specific programs. Students enrolled in each of these programs are required to also enroll in an accompanying, for-credit seminar that will address topics specific to each practice area. This seminar is designed for students who are enrolled in the Environmental and Natural Resources Externship Program for the first time. If the student has previously completed an externship in the Environmental and Natural Resources Externship Program, he or she does not need to take the seminar again.

The course will address topics specific to the practice of environmental and natural resources law, typically including ethical issues, professionalism, effective advocacy, negotiations, and client relationships.

This course is designed for students who are taking their first externship in the Environmental and Natural Resources Externship Program, and such students will be given priority. This includes student who are practicing in a governmental agency, nonprofit organization, or private firm that focuses on environmental or natural resources law. Please place yourself on the wait list for the class; once you have submitted the paperwork required to be enrolled in an externship, the Externship Office will enroll you in this course. If space allows, students who have taken an externship in this area in the past will also be considered.

Please consult the Legal Externship Office website for information on enrolling in a legal externship.
