Intermediate Legal Analysis | L4015
This small-group course provides second year law students with comprehensive instruction in the analytical and communication skills necessary to perform effective legal analysis. Professor Powell's section of the course will guide students through the development of these important skills in the subject areas of torts and constitutional law, including defamation, privacy and hate speech issues. Through a variety of writing assignments, students will have multiple opportunities to practice and receive feedback regarding rule synthesis, statutory construction, case analysis, fact evaluation, application of legal principles and effective communication. In addition, students will be required to submit a substantial writing project with revisions.
