Debtor/Creditor Rights and Remedies | L4162

This course explores state and non-bankruptcy federal laws concerning the ability of creditors to enforce money judgments and the countervailing protections afforded to debtors during this process. Topics will include, but are not limited to: execution; attachment; garnishment; judicial and statutory liens; post-judgment discovery; third-party liability; setoff; security interests in personal property; and bankruptcy alternatives such as workout agreements and assignments for the benefit of creditors.
