Criminal Procedure (Advanced) | L4026

This course will incorporate the substantive law of criminal procedure into a trial advocacy course. The course will cover virtually all stages of a criminal case as it proceeds through the judicial process. The substantive and procedural law covered will be national in scope with reference to Colorado law. Course participation will include oral advocacy exercises involving factual hypotheticals implicating the relevant substantive law principles. The course will cover procedure in the areas of preliminary hearings, bail hearings, motions hearings, trial and sentencing hearings. Students will be expected to orally advocate their positions in each of these settings.
