This online form is to be completed by a student intending to satisfy the Public Service Requirement. Students may complete the Public Service Requirement after they have completed their first academic year. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the requirement before the last semester of law school. Details regarding each option that satisfies the Public Service Requirement can be found here »

  1. Externships (Offered in Spring, Fall and Summer)
    A qualifying, 2 or more credit, Externship in a government, judicial, non-profit setting or in a private law firm doing pro bono work under the auspices of the Externship Office.

    A student completes a minimum of 50-hours of supervised, uncompensated, law-related work in a court or government office setting, private law firm doing pro bono or qualifying low-fee work, or non-profit organization or a pre-approved uncompensated research project for a faculty member. A student may choose to do a Public Interest Practicum for one or zero academic credit as follows:
    Public Interest Practicum (for 1 Academic Credit)
    Public Interest Practicum (for 0 Academic Credit)

    A Sturm College of Law Student Law Clinic under the auspices of the Student Law Office
