Thompson Marsh Award - 1997

Thomas N. Jordan Jr. was the inaugural recipient of the Thompson Marsh Award in 1997. Oil man, attorney, politician, and vintner, Jordan is the developer and owner of Jordan Vineyard and Winery, and owner of JOG Corporation, an oil and gas exploration company. He served in the Colorado State legislature during the mid-60s and then entered the private sector to start an oil and gas exploration company with Trend Exploration Limited. He moved to Filon Exploration Corporation, started Jordan Oil and Gas Company, then founded his vineyard and winery. Jordan has been a loyal supporter of the University and has annually contributed Jordan wine to the DU Law Stars dinner. Jordan received an honorary doctor of science degree from the University of Denver in 1989 and was honored be the American Association of Petroleum Geologists in 1997.
