Prior to becoming Dean of the University of Denver College of Law (1978-1984), Daniel Hoffman served as manager of safety and excise for the City and County of Denver. He was also a senior partner at the Denver legal firm Holme Roberts & Owen, a partner in the law firm of McKenna Cuneo. Hoffman then went on to form his own firm, Hoffman, Reilly, Pozner, & Williamson, where he continues to specialize in complex litigation, including class actions, commercial, employment law, toxic torts, copyright issues and trade secrets. Hoffman is the only person in history to serve as president of both the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, and as state chairperson of the Colorado chapter of the American College of Trial Lawyers. In 1993, he received the Learned Hand Award from the American Jewish Committee.
