Rock Pring came to DU Law in 1979, as a visiting professor and became a permanent member of the faculty on January 1, 1980. Pring is an authority on natural resources and environmental issues nationally and internationally. He also is an authority on constitutional and human rights issues. He is the co-author of SLAPPs: Getting Sued for Speaking Out, a book that drew national attention to the problem of “Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation” (lawsuits to chill citizens’ communications to government). At DU Law, Pring teaches Constitutional Law, Environmental Law, International Environmental Law, International Water Law, and (Government) Administrative Law, and serves as Faculty Supervisor of the Environmental/Natural Resources Law Internship Program and the Water Law Review. He is also an adjunct professor in the Environmental Science and Engineering Graduate Program at the Colorado School of Mines and President and Co-Founder of the Clear Creek Land Conservancy.
