Sheila Hyatt taught in the areas of Civil Procedure, Evidence and Trial Practice. She authored the often-cited Colorado Evidence Treatise, and co-authored a two-volume treatise on Colorado Civil Procedure. She served on the Colorado Supreme Court’s Evidence Rules Advisory Committee. She was a member of the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, and served as a member of the Hearing Commission for the Presiding Disciplinary Judge in the Colorado Supreme Court’s Office of Attorney Regulation. She taught Gender and Law for many years and received the Colorado Women’s Bar Association Mary Lathrop Trailblazer Award and the Raising the Bar Teaching and Mentoring Award. In addition to serving as the Associate Dean of the College of Law from 1995-1998, she was active in the College of Law’s moot court program.
