Our 2008 application is available online through LSDAS
Please note that we do not have an official application deadline
Application
To fill out an online application please go to www.lsac.org. The LSAC online application service is provided without additional charge when you register for LSDAS. You may access the Sturm College of Law application form through LSAC's website by clicking here. This link will take you directly to the LSAC website.
We prefer applicants to apply using online services. Applications submitted online are processed quicker than applications submitted by regular mail. However, if regular mail is your only option to apply we will gladly accept the application. Click here to download a PDF of our application.
If you have any questions about the online application form or are in need of assistance while filling it out, please contact the Office of Admissions at 303.871.6135 or admissions@law.du.edu.
Resume
All applicants must submit a resume that lists
jobs, extracurricular, political, and community activities.
It should also include any honors and awards you have received.
Please include dates for all items on your resume.
Personal
Statement
Your personal statement
should be double spaced and generally not exceed two pages.
Keeping in mind the fact that your LSAT score and undergraduate
GPA are only a part of what the Admissions Committee will consider,
you should take this opportunity to explain to the committee
why you should be selected for admission to the Sturm College
of Law. Topics that the committee may consider helpful
in evaluating your qualifications may include:
- Significant
personal experiences beyond what may be reflected in your transcripts
and on your resume.
- Characteristics and
experiences that you will bring the Sturm College of Law and
the legal profession that distinguish you from other applicants.
- Long-range career
plans and goals that you intend to pursue with your law degree.
- The intellectual
contribution you will make to the classroom.
Letters of Recommendation
We require the submission of two letters
of recommendation. We prefer that these letters be from college
professors who can attest to your ability to enter a competitive
professional program. If you have been out of school for some
time, letters from a work situation can be helpful. We strongly
recommend that you submit your letters through the LSAC
letter of recommendation service.
LSDAS/LSAT
Applicants must register for the Law School
Data Assembly Service (LSDAS)
and submit all transcripts directly to LSDAS.
Applicants must also take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT)
to be considered for admission. The LSAT
is offered in February, June, October, and December.
